Accreditation Process

A transparent, rigorous, and supportive pathway to accreditation.

1

Eligibility & Application

1-2 months

Institutions submit an eligibility application with basic institutional profile, governance structure, and evidence of legal status. IAA reviews eligibility and provides feedback within 30 days.

Key Documents: Application form, Institutional charter, Governance documents
2

Self-Evaluation Report

6-12 months

The institution prepares a comprehensive Self-Evaluation Report (SER) covering all IAA standards including academic quality, student services, resources, and governance. IAA assigns a liaison officer to guide the process.

Key Documents: Self-evaluation report, Evidence portfolio, Data supplements
3

Expert Panel Site Visit

3-5 days

An international panel of 4-6 experts visits the institution to verify the self-evaluation, interview stakeholders, inspect facilities, and observe teaching. The visit is collaborative, not adversarial.

Key Documents: Site visit schedule, Interview protocols, Observation reports
4

Panel Report & Institutional Response

2-3 months

The review panel prepares a detailed report with findings, commendations, and recommendations. The institution has 30 days to respond to factual accuracy before the report is finalized.

Key Documents: Panel report, Institutional response, Revised report
5

Accreditation Council Decision

1-2 months

The IAA Accreditation Council reviews the panel report and institutional response, then makes a decision: Full Accreditation (7 years), Conditional Accreditation (with conditions), or Deferral for further review.

Key Documents: Council decision letter, Accreditation certificate, Public summary
